A10 Media Day - Tuesday October 17

Keith and Dae Dae will represent the Dukes.

Dukes Press Conference is scheduled at 11:45am; A10 Insider interview scheduled at 1:30pm.

I’m curious on what level of respect the Dukes will receive this year. If you recall, they were “picked” 15th last year and had no player recognition on the top 3 teams or all-defensive team.

My guess would be that the Dukes are picked 4th; Dae Dae is 1st team and Jimmy Clark is all-defensive team. We shall see.

Predicted 4th in the A10.   Dayton, VCU and Bona ahead of us.   Us, then St Joes, SLU, Fordham, LoC, GW, GM, Richmond, Davidson, Umass, URI, LaSalle.

Dayton has 20 first place votes, VCU 3, Bona 1 and Fordham 1.

Grant preseason all A10 first teamer.
Clark 2nd teamer and all defensive team.

Not yet, and there will be at least 3 teams after this break before Duquesne as far as I am aware

They were interviewed on the main ESPN+ feed a few minutes ago. Nothing disclosed that was new or groundbreaking.

I felt the Dukes got a little disrespected,KD was rather low key and not much talked about the newcomers.The one host was raving about St.Joes and Reynolds and their coach seemed very upbeat.
Id say the St.Joes coach is on the hot seat.

I'd agree Stew. Not sure if Dambrot is trying to downplay the hype but this year is HUGE for Duquesne. Maybe the injuries have been a big factor in not getting up to speed yet so far like he says...

I think Clark is a better player than Grant and they are the best guard combo inA10.Clark so athletic,good
shooter and his defense is so good.

Interior defense and rebounding will define the Dukes season.Too many easy layups and allowing the opponent 2nd and 3rd  offensive rebounds.St.Louis,Dayton. and. Fordham killed us on boards.

On the mark on that one Stew!  Interior defense, however was under attack often because the guards got beaten off the dribble too often.  If you recall New Mexico St, Davidson and Marshall among others, guards got into the paint too often resulting in easy baskets.  Apparently our bigs were told not to help on these situations. Rotation breakdowns also result in open threes!
