Yeah they decided to drop Colonials a couple years ago, but waited to do it until they settled on a new name.

Not a bad half of basketball from our Dukes. A little careless with the ball at times, but responding well to a less than favorable whistle at home so far. Very good sign after our previous meltdowns caused by poor officiating. A couple harsh ones on Clark forcing him to the bench. Credit to GW, they are making their free throws. You have to think we’ll get a couple of those in the second. As hard as we took it to the rim in that first half, very surprised we head to the locker room with no free throw attempts.

You need to stop always blaming the officials. They are consistent for both teams.

Well, not how I envisioned it. But maybe it’s not such a bad thing to win a close game heading into Brooklyn. We have won 11 out of 14. Keep it going Dukes!

That was a very hard & glorious to watch game.

Congratulations to coaches & players alike. What a special day for lots of the seniors.

The steal & score sequences that Dae Dae & Jimmy pulled off will stay with me for a long time.

How about the basketball gods show us Dukes fans some mercy by letting the killer defense continue while the offense blossoms next week?

Keep hitting those FTs in Brooklyn. 11-11 and none from Grant.

George Washington is way better than their record, they played very well,Dukes showed guts and hustle and our 2 special seniors and Dixon led us to a great win.10-8 record is a tribute to the team and coaches for
never giving up.GW is going to pull a huge surprise upset in the tournament.

GW is way better than their record, and they have already shown they can beat upper echelon A-10 teams.

I remember predicting (last season) that Dixon could be all-conference by his junior year. Standing by that.

Good to get a win. I’ve seen GW play a few teams in person this year. They played way better the last two games.

Interesting fact - Duquesne has the longest active win streak of any A10 team heading into the tournament.

Just got back from the game. From the start, it had the makings of an upset. The last few possessions could have gone either way. Too close for comfort, but I'm glad for the win and Clark's 1000 points. We really needed that win. I think  GW will face Fordham first and just may beat them, so we may see them instead.  I watched Dayton last night almost lay an egg, but came through at the end.

Did the year Clark spent at that Floirda JC or D2 place not count towards his point total?   I had assumed he got a grand a while ago.   Regardless, what a way to get it!!!!

Funny about him. He is bigger in size and was not pushed around in the paint as much as Drame and Dixon, so I hope to see more of him if we face GW again. GW was physical in the paint and they drove to the basket more then a last place team should. I don't know how they lost so many games the way they played today?

Dixon was mighty today & could be one of the best players in the league next season but, he has 5 major improvements to make.

-Get that knee to 100%
-Have the conditioning/strength to play 30 minutes a game against top flight bigs
-Cut his fouling down by 25%
-Cut his turnovers way, way down
-Shoot 70%+ from the FT line

The Dukes will play the winner of the #11 Rhode Island / #14 Saint Louis matchup, as I understand it. Then they would face Dayton with a win.

Yes, the officials were evenly bad.

We sure got some favorable calls in the second half aside from the offensive foul on Dimichele and the block on Drame. It evened out in the end for sure. My point was that it was not affecting our play. Another positive sign of growth for this team.

I like playing Rhode Island or St.Louis because neither one plays defense.

Napa… I totally agree. But neither side was favored.

I feel like the officials have let a lot more contact go during this A-10 season as compared to the last 6-8 years. I do not watch enough other college basketball to have an opinion on what is happening in other conferences.

It is a LITTLE bit like the old Big East officiating. I  like it for the game in general & this Dukes team specifically. It goes well with the current defensive plan.

I totally agree CityDuke this team has grown and mature during the season. This was a solid team win.  The Dukes played 11 guys and all but one scored, and all but one had at least one rebound.  I am very happy for all our seniors.
