If that was a real system we’d see it more. There’s a reason RE did it when he did (and didn’t after).
It’s also at odds with the defensive-minded coaching we saw from Dambrot and are likely to continue seeing from Joyce.
I’m not saying they’ll never push the tempo but there’s some rose colored glasses here about 1040.
AMEN to that.....Face....RE kinda fell into the the 10/40....because his personal dictated it...What McConnell and RE proved is that you can very effectively push the pace with fresh bodies. We never really had, a major scorer on those teams...So we had to rely on pressuring defense and look to push the pace on the offense... McConnell to this day, was never, a truly reliable (scorer) and has never been a (good) 3-point shooter.... We had to rely on fast break and transition baskets and on Saunders and Clark to crash the boards....That's not to say that we can't incorporate facets of the 10/40, we do have a deep enough team to run the 10/40 effectively.....but we don't have to....because...we also have 2 or 3 (proven) scores on this team. The lesson from this, is that we should always look to push the pace... when possible... It at the very least, makes the opponent "react" to you.... as apposed....to the other way around... We're the guys forcing the action...not them....
Go Dukes !!!
