Detroit Mercy is D1 - played Cleary.  Cleary lost hugely. Most remember from last year, I assume, that  their coach is former Dambrot assistant Carl Thomas and one of their players is former Dukes walk on Jaylen Cole-Williams.

We won against a weaker opponent, but it was well played and Eli had a nice game and he can really get up for blocks. Great number of assist and rebounds. Good FT percent and decent 3pt shooting. Edwards had some nice drives in the paint and Corbett had an all around good game. Barre looked like he pulled a muscle. At first I thought it was maybe a cramp, but he went to the locker room and came back with his thigh rapped with ,I think, an ice pack. I hope it's not severe. Now beat RI next Tuesday and get this season back on track.

Played well. Think the Dukes will take it to URI and then Davidson and finally get this season rolling. All upside here on out.

Thanks, CLK. I’m glad that Dave Mackall is still covering the Dukes. I appreciate all of the injury updates that we have been speculating on.

There were only 2 games yesterday involving D-1 teams.  The Dukes game was closer than the other game
Baylor beat Arlington Baptist by 54 (107-53).  Funny.

I don't know if we are ready for Rhode Island.  What the Dukes haven't figured out yet, or we haven't seen yet, is a replacement for J. Clark.  Until Dambrot gave him full reign, we weren't where we needed to be.  I wonder who can be the CONSISTENT almost every game leading scorer.  We have to have a go to person for points when you have to have them.  I believe this is the next piece needed for us to play with the top teams in the A-10..

Dinkins and Crawford have had 3 nice games starting together. Both are hitting 3s and Rozier is way more effective coming in off the bench. And the way that Necas and Corbett are playing, I think this team could be better than last years team. The next game is going to tell  us a lot.  Go Dukes.

Agree. A lot of talent on this team and only going to get better as the season goes on. Go Dukes!

I'm still not sold on the Dukes' guards. I think the talent level is far below the top levels of the A10.  We will get a good indication on Tuesday vs. Rhode Island, who have one of the top guard tandems in the A10 in Sebastian Thomas and Jamarques Lawrence.  And the Dukes are going to have to play these guards pretty much straight up since they have a soldi tandem at center, along with a very strong forward in David Green.

PR great point. My big concern is Dru vs. Archie. RI. Last year Archie inherited a disastrous roster. The 2024 -25 year roster Rams vert good. If Coach Dru gets the big W he is moving towards a up and coming coach. Archie has a great resume. Go Coach Dru & The Dukes.

RI played every win this non conf. at home and lost on the road. They, this season have not run on the road this kind of defense that DU is going to put them through. On offense, this starting lineup  is undefeated.  Come Tuesday, I like our chances.  Dinkins IS the point, Crawford is this years Tre Clark.  Necas is more than we put on the floor last year. And Corbett is becoming that one player that no one can stop. Our three bigs are the best that any team can put on a court.   RI is 0-1 on the road. These Dukes are going to win. Just saying?

Yeah i've watched quite a few URI games and although they are improved, I wasn't as impressed as others as they have struggled against inferior competition. Played a lot of teams who don't play good defense and squeezed out close wins. Think the Dukes will be more than up to the task. Like the Dukes big time here.
