Hi! Not a random post unless my information is wrong… and I hope I am. But the information I have is that he isn’t committed  yet. Again, Hope he is committed and no one knows.
He definitely visited a few days ago and I hope he decides to be a Duke.

Maybe the men’s and women’s coaches can both go point guard shopping. Both are in dire need of one.

He may be smarter than all of us!

Thoughts imo…
Dave is a bright guy and has a handle on things. We are fortunate that he, the president, and board of directors are supportive. This is especially important since the President is retiring. Father Mac was the last President we had up to now, who was so supportive and in touch with what the landscape is. I hope we get another supportive President like our current one.

Now, in terms of the AD, we are also fortunate regarding his understanding and support.  It helps me overlook that he isn’t the most personal person but I can overlook all of that as I believe he is extremely competent.

Wildwood I agree. Two things can both be true.

Does anyone think it’s a COINCIDENCE that Barre n Wilborn leave after Dru’s new big guy signing?

This is positive...but with that said, we STILL need a very good guard who is NOT SHORT!

My thoughts on success are exactly the same for both programs  

Be competitive as evidenced by a bid to the NCAA, or a bid to the NIT, no less than once every 2 years and win at least one game in the tournament.

The Dukes had a nice ride through the NIT. THE BETTER team won.

Cleveland’s defense is shutting us down. Not enough quick ball movement. They appear faster than us. It doesn’t look good…watch the turnovers.

General Thoughts

-I don't want anyone who isn't in the portal yet, to leave.  However, it's not like we were a good team last year who did well in the A-10 or went to the NIT or NCAA.  So I really don't think it will significantly hurt a team that didn't do very well anyhow.
-But again, a good nucleus is Max, Wilborn, Jake, Cam, Necas, Dixon, Dinkins...in no particular order
-Someone mentioned in another post that Dru needs to bring in a really good assistant.  I don't think any of us can judge how good they are or will be (including Dru) since this was the first year they all worked together.
