Offline Hoorah for the red and blue! Offline Maybe we're learning how to win finally. Offline Well I can't remember the last time someone stepped up, in this case M. Lewis freshman, and made a critical shot - the 3 that put us up one. Then he makes 2 foul shots and Blackmon makes 4 in a row. Very pleased with the "will" and clutch shots at the end as we otherwise too easily let them back in the game. The announcers at one point said, before Lewis' 3, that we were 9-30 in the second half. As I just texted my buddy in Florida, we do have some very good young talent (IMike, MLewis, Sander, TSmith) and some decent talent and depth overall. I agree with VBC, I don't care who the Coach is, I just want WINS! On the road, no matter the opponent, is always a good win and I am happy for the team. Offline FYI-Stat sheet from Fordham-Dukes game. Offline A small step forward. A win Tuesday would be a potential game changer. Offline Huge outcome in composure. patience and belief. MLewis, what a find! Emile and Kale paying dividends. Castro runs the show 30 mins, second only to ML's 31. Offline Huge outcome in composure. patience and belief. MLewis, what a find! Emile and Kale paying dividends. Castro runs the show 30 mins, second only to ML's 31. They are miles away from making this happen. All they did tonight was go from a possible 3-4 conference win season, to potentially 5-6 wins. They'll need to beat some better teams than Fordham to make me think they can approach .500, let alone the best outcome in decades. Offline 6 for 28 from trey land. 21%. Still chuckin' away. Somehow, he has to put a lid on that. Seems like everyone still has the green light to fire away no matter the score, no matter the shot clock, no matter if it's contested or not. For every positive play abrahamson made, he also made a negative play. He looks really erratic on offense and had some reckless drives to the hoop as well as a number of really bad shots. He definitely has talent and a pretty good stroke but hopefully he can shake the rust and improve his decision making. Offline Ken that is why no lead is safe. They could be up by 30 and I would expect a come back because they don't know any other way to play. Once again coaching and the lack thereof. Nice to see the Dukes make big plays down the stretch. And Mike Lewis continues to impress; he has a lot of upside too. Offline Team shooting under 32% from 3. Other than Mike Lewis, Emile Blackmon, and Rene Castro, don't really want to see too many 3's going up. Abrahamson has that shot but not sure that much playing time is justified in his case to this point. Littleson just not ready yet. Offline Left out Josh Steele who can shoot the three but where is he? Offline Team shooting under 32% from 3. He just posted a double-double in the first game where he played extended minutes. Offline Left out Josh Steele who can shoot the three but where is he? Shows up in sweats. Offline Abrahamson does not appear to be as athletic as most of our players. Not sure if offense is needed as much as defense. Believe team is best served with him coming off the bench to hopefully provide some perimeter shooting. So far, I have only seen him play one good game offensively and I need to see him do that and rebound a few more times to be convinced. Hope he turns out to be great!
Re: Fordham Game
I do hope that Jim Ferry can rally this team and save his job. I want wins and I don't care who the coach is.

Warning, get too wrapped over tomorrow is recipe for losers - enjoy this one! Chance to have best conference outcome in decades before calling it a season.

102 as I stated in another thread I could not agree with you more. I can't believe several of his passes were not picked off and for all the criticism of JRob's defense being the reason he can't get on the court Abrahamson is a swinging door on defense. He's horrible.

KenOTR73, agreed. They rebounded their share of those misses against Fordham, but that will not be the case on most nights. What also is a concern is that they gave up 44 points to offensively challenged Fordham in the second half (granted, there were two 3's in the last few seconds). But that continues to be a pattern of Ferry's teams at Duquesne.
