Noticed this in the first part of the article. What kind of syntax its this?
"...basketball player Mike Peake met up with three of his teammates in a yellow Camaro on campus before police arrived and put his gun and tablet in the trunk."

Anyway. Peake is suspended, but the team goes on and nothing is said about the coverup by the teammates and coach. 

Also wondering why it took over two weeks for the story to reach the media.

an incredible story -  and begining to look like the Chicago gang element is entering our NCAA basketball arena literally and figuratively…   with a number of players and coaches on the New Mexico State involved with a coverup,  I believe Duquesne should voice their opinion about them coming here to play.  

Video of the altercation was released, and I'll link it for whoever wants to see. It seems it is pretty obvious a self defense killing but why was he carrying a gun at an away game after team curfew? They're all morons. FYI Mike Peake gets ran up on by three guys and a gun shoved in his face, then hit with a bat. He starts running away but gets chased and fires shots back, killing the person chasing him. (that part is blurred out) Mike also gets shot in the leg.

The new allegations involve multiple players hazing a teammate on more than one occasion. The police report was filed in the past 24 hours and that resulted in the shutdown of the program.
