Anyone know what other offers he had, who else he was considering?

I believe the only school he visited was Duquesne. Miami, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Utah State, Loyola Chicago, UTEP, Illinois State, UAB and others showed interest.

What about Brandon Hall?

I knew I was forgetting somebody. I’ll update my comment. Brandon Hall tore his ACL in late January/early February. He was retweeting about Duquesne before and after the Illinois game so he is still committed as well.

Like many of you, I have great memories from my time on the Bluff, on and off campus in Uptown in the "Fifth/Forbes corridor". Over the years the slum landlords that sat on dilapidated properties and held the neighborhood back in the name of personal profits has always extremely frustrated me. Over the past several months lots of great news has come out regarding new apartment developments in uptown, and I hope the neighborhood can grow back to the bustling community it was. The BRT is also being constructed right now. When all of this development is complete I believe Uptown will become a desirable place for young professionals to live. The location of the neighborhood and the proximity to the central business district is too good for some slumlords to hold it back. Especially with the addition of the medical school and the momentum Duquesne has, I think the Bluff is in a great position for growth.

Might there be another “cryptic” tweet soon?

https://x.com/ctespnn/status/1783576819322564981?s=46&t=dJmYipTYixRBmeSJgoveew

There have been accounts trying to "break the news" for weeks now to claim they were the ones that said it was happening. I am not believing an account labeled "CTESPN"... which is actually an Antonio brown reference. Yikes. I will not allow myself to get too excited over this until I see a tweet confirming from Bronny, Bron, Woj, or somebody similar.

I'm satisfied to this point with our signings but need to see a couple more good ones soon. Another guard to play the point and hopefully a big to help out inside. Let's see what happens and hopefully it happens soon!
That would, I suppose, give us 12 ships in use if my math is correct and the 2 early signings are still committed.

Scholarship math at Duquesne is fuzzy at best.  We have 6 returning players, 9 guys who we believe were on scholarship that graduated or left, and currently we have three signings.  Those who left are:
H Drame
 Savrasov
 F Drame
 Mahorcic
 Grant
 Clark
 Williams
 Nicholls
Barba

I think at the moment there are currently 9 on scholarship.

Dixon
Barre
Necas
Hronsky
Rozier
Dimichele (give him a schoalrship)
Crawford (committed yesterday)
Dinkins (committed yesterday)
Aekins (Incoming freshman who committed in July, have not heard otherwise)
Brandon Hall (Committed in December)

Not aware of any others, very possible I am missing another incoming freshman but haven't heard much about Dom Aekins or any other freshman.

SLU is definitely leading the A10 in portal pickups this offseason. Loyola has made some scary moves too.

Most interesting name to me is Tyson Acuff after a season in which he finished 8th in the country in scoring? Any chance he’d want to come back?

Thought I saw Toby Okani in there too.

Okani just committed to West Virginia.
Tyson Acuff committed to Rutgers.

He only has 1 year of eligibility left. Before his 2 years at Canisius he played 2 years at Harcum Junior College in Bryn Mawr, PA.

So nice to see the Dukes at a Pens Game and then a Pirate game. They are relevant and the PR keeps their name out there. Two good recruits plus seeing the players who are leaving in that pic shows how together they are even at the end of the year.

I loved the chalk throw to announce the recruits.

I was originally unhappy, and I still do not like the fact that the Duquesne Dukes play at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Cooper Fieldhouse. As Dukes2012 said, it was probably a situation where the university couldn't turn down an offer of that value. Hopefully the naming rights are for an X amount of years and after the Dukes make the tournament a few more times we could get a big name sponsor to pay enough to not advertise the scared university up Forbes. When it comes to the medical school that is out of my expertise. Because of a family member I know nursing students have a full semester where they work as a nurse with no classes. Some work at mercy, some work at AGH, some work other places.

Spencer Thomas from the Duquesne Duke has been doing a fantastic job with his coverage as the sports editor of the paper.

Walking on to the NCAA Tournament • The Duquesne Duke (duqsm.com)

The article states Dimichele had to pay "full tuition" but I recall Keith Dambrot on the 3 bid league podcast stating that since Dimichele was a 4.0 student, they were able to get him some pretty substantial scholarships even though it wasn't an athletic full-ride.

Great article. It was nice to get some insight about our newer coach. Throughout the season I saw his involvement and comradery with the team, but aleays wanted to learn more! Interesting tidbit that Mcfadden ran the offense and Joyce ran the defense.

I was excited to see there were 11 comments on this thread after the weekend. Sad to see it's just like the others. One thing sticks out to me that Styles said and it's that Dambrot "Underachieved". Even if his first 6 seasons here were all like '21-'22 getting 6 total wins and 1 conference win, in his final season he made the NCAA Tournament and WON an NCAA Tournament game. At Duquesne. Phil, Styles, and others may be unaware but the last time Duquesne did each of those was 1977 and 1969 respectively. When Keith Dambrot came to Duquesne his goal was to return Duquesne to the NCAA Tournament and he did that and more. Keith Dambrot sure as hell did not underachieve at Duquesne.
