At this point, I'd take George Santos... So glad to see that Kenya's career has been successful. Another in a long line of Duquesne players that were great both on the court and off. I'm coming to the sad conclusion that the A-10 will be a perennial one bid league. Power 5 and Big East will eat up 80% of the bids. Then the mid-majors will fill out the field. Just my humble opinion folks. I did forget about Williams. Feeling much better! Barre did pre-game drills and looked. I think the coaches just didn't have faith in him to be a positive influence. I was in attendance today. Too much blame on the coaching staff here. We missed the front end of two 1 and 1's late. We had two open dunks where the player elected to go for a lay-in instead and blew it. We had 13 more TO's than them. It was by far the most physical game that I saw this year. Schmidt is notorious for that. That forced us to use more than normal substitutions. Dinkins had to score and play point guard. He can't do that for 40 minutes. I agree that Rozier did not have a good game. But he had to spell Dinkins. The same with Wilborn and Dixon. Dixon and a pretty bad leg injury in the first half but coach had to use him. Not having DiMichele for most of the season really had a negative impact. So wrap that all together. Let's see what happens with the Portal. We definitely need a superior point guard that we look to score 8 to 10 points. We need a 6'10" center at 230 to 240 pounds not 215. Adding my thanks as well, CLK. I'm sure that FAM and Bluffhunter will keep it going. Like you, last year was the culmination of a dream after so many years of frustration. Great job! Very pleased with the up-tempo play. Also, attacking the rim. The best rebounding effort that we've seen to date. Really glad for Dae Dae. Always looked for him to finish the game for us. How are they going to prevent those folks from coming in and parking at 2:00 PM!!! Great point FAM... More information: Trump's campaign confirmed that he will deliver remarks at a rally at PPG Paints Arena on Monday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. Doors open at 2 p.m. I heard that trump's rally would be in the evening, but it is not definite yet. Just keep checking the PPG site or the news. I might just stay home in any case. If anyone is planning on going to the Cayman Islands, please make sure to check the laws. It is a British territory but the bullet fiasco with the Turks and Caicos has me "Check everything before you travel out of the USA". Thanks CLK. Very nice video... Very satisfying... How could you not want to join the Big East now? The football schools are gone. Every Saturday afternoon, CBS broadcasts a Big East game. Over the last nine years, men's basketball teams have earned 42 NCAA invitations averaging 5.25 per season. Women's basketball is coming off its most successful season with five NCAA Tournament bids. Ask DePaul how they like being in the Big East. They've finished last 12 of the last 16 seasons, and still finished with a losing record in the other 4. I'm not saying we shouldn't go in the highly unlikely event the Big East invites us, but it's definitely not a no-brainer. If you look at the total body of their work: Going back to this topic, VBC wrote: Dayton grad and fan here, but former Pittsburgher and friend of the late, great Dukes beat writer Phil Axelrod. I just wanted to say I was rooting big time for Duquesne and you long-suffering fans. I’m so happy for you and for the program. Somewhere up there, Phil is smiling! Best of luck in … THE BIG DANCE! This kind of changes things. I hope that you're right about the Duquesne parking garage Napa. Keep checking. A no go for me. But I'm a glass half empty guy.

Their NCAA Tournament record blows us away. It tells me that their current administration has just lost interest. Kind of like us for 50 years. I'm sure their primary years of success were back in the 50's and 60's like us. In any case if our administration is serious about elevating our program then they should be proactive and put a presentation together and approach the B.E. honchos. If not, stay in the A-10.Men's Basketball » Duquesne To The Big East? » 4/01/2024 10:35 am
Back when the Big East was formed and we were invited to join I was glad that we stayed in the Eastern 8 which is now the A-10. It was the better league at the time. Villanova also was begging us to stay in the league which included teams that are now in the Big 10, ACC, Big 12 as well as the Big East.
From Wikipedia:
The core of the Big East formed when Providence, St. John's, Georgetown, and Syracuse invited Seton Hall, Connecticut (UConn), Holy Cross, Rutgers, and Boston College (BC). Holy Cross turned down the invitation, as did Rutgers initially, while BC, Seton Hall, and UConn accepted. Villanova and Pittsburgh joined the conference shortly thereafter.
So, no, we were never invited to join. St. John's tried to get us in but to no avail. Once Pitt was invited and accepted we were out. How could you not want to join the Big East now? The football schools are gone. Every Saturday afternoon, CBS broadcasts a Big East game. Over the last nine years, men's basketball teams have earned 42 NCAA invitations averaging 5.25 per season. Oh yes, if they offer, we must go.
