As of 4/18/25 12. Stef Van Brussel 13. Tarence Guinyard 2 scholarships remain As of 4/18/25 12. Stef Van Brussel Thanks for the comment, as yes, I do want to see the program be successful. And to be perfectly honest, there is very little activity on this particular site, so I will continue to post information and don't care if people loathe when I post, especially if it is critical, but if generates discussion so be it. Akron Bound As I did for the Men's Team - I decided to create a Thread to Track the Women's Roster. I hoped by waiting a few days after the Portal Deadline all of the departures would be known and we could focus on the additions needed. Given Andjela's departure today I'm going to go ahead and post. As A COURTESY please use this thread for NUMBERS only. With 15 available slots below I have 12 players which would make 3 spots available. Feel free with any corrections. Andjela is now showing up in the transfer portal as leaving the program. Hugley Looks like there are only 9 in and 6 available - YOU are correct.. When Barre and Wilborn left - only ONE got subtracted in the numbers. That is why I/we are TRYING to keep track of the roster. Mea Culpa!! With Halil's Departure there are now 10 players in the program and 5 slots available. Hoping for some ADDITIONS soon. There are now 5 scholarships that can be filled. The latest departure REALLY hurts According to On3 - Sean Miller is adding ex-Duke Kenya Hunter to his staff at Texas Hughley would make 11 - 4 spots would remain. As a COURTESY going forward can we use this thread to track the numbers only. Possible new recruits / rules regulations etc can you please post them in different threads etc. 1,977 D-1 players in the transfer portal as of this morning. Averaging about about 5½ players per team. And when you add "the players/seniors" who have "exhausted their ability" (Auburn had 10 ) you might be adding say 3 MORE players to the total per team- which means teams might bring the average to 9 replacements each. And present rosters were 13 (although that is going to 15). AND the portal is still open. There is an event called the Lilly Women's College All Star Game Saturday April 5 at 3PM on ESPN2 - Megan was one if twenty players selected to participate. CONGRATULATIONS to her. Robert Morris is losing their ENTIRE STARTING LINEUP If I understand correctly, one of the harshest aspects of the new NCAA 15 player roster rule is that it applies to walk on players. Kids that have, in some cases, invested years in the program are no longer officially on the team. Duquesne had 5 walk on players last season. Such is college basketball today 😟 CLK, you are correct regarding the hard and fast roster limit of 15. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Dukes and other schools build and manage their roster. Phoenix, great post. This is no doubt the thought process and major challenge for low and mid major schools with limited resources. If those numbers in the link are correct, which I don't, in a few years the NCAA will be composed of only P4 leagues. OR possibly the P4 will become the P2 as the gap between the SEC and Big 10 widens between the Big 12 and the A Thanks for posting this. I think Arness is also one to add based on his commitment CTS: I did not include Arness ONLY because of all those players (mostly in football) who 'Decide to Reopen Their Commitment" And we see posts on the internet where school ABC is pursuing school XYZ's commitment FIRST I read a while ago that the number of scholarships will increase to 15 for both men (presently 13) and women (presently 14) Cleveland State won in overtime 72-70. Feed went out for a long time. They managed to make enough free throws to hang on. Their best player is their center who is strong around the basket. Feel really sorry for the Saint Francis community. There's a lot of old basketball tradition there; glad that they went out on a high note. And LaSalle just built/or is building a brand new on campus facility spending millions of dollars... Saw something on the Internet game related story - attributed to Pittsburgh Sports Now - Called her Faith BLOCKER Saw something on the Internet - attributed to Pittsburgh Sports Now - Called her Faith BLOCKER I would be surprised if Cleveland State doesn’t win. They are extremely strong. FAM: Per the Net Rankings -- They are as of 3/16/ Perhaps this is due to they try to set up the numbers PRIOR to the start of the Post Season and don't need to adjust them afterwards. AWESOME Job All Around Next up is winner of Cleveland State vs Coppin State. With Apologies to Bluff Hunter -- I'm going to beat the Dead Horse One More Time -- My computer skills are not that good where I can quickly insert a response to a particular question. Nor am I going to address all of them. I KNOW you will respond I'm NOT going to continue back and forth. The length of this post is not meant to disparage your comments, but I want to bring facts into the conversation to counter your statements about player talent.
As for the the Villanova transfer, she has a name btw, Maddie Webber. She was highly recruited by Duquesne in high school. I am friends with Brad Everett, who covers high school sports for the strike-version of the Post-Gazette. He told me directly that Maddie was very close to committing to Duquesne, but ultimately went to Villanova.
As far as her getting excess 6 figures, I really don't know if that is true. She is likely getting a nice package and I curious to know too what it is. I reached out to Brad and will pass along here if he knows how much she is getting. I will also say, women's basketball is nothinig like football or men's basketball. The NIL money isn't there for the majority of the schools and the top-level women's programs have big money to pass out and it is not going to be high figures.
Yes, there are a few exceptions of women's players getting paid a lot of money, but they are few and far between. Even Illinois is probably in the red as a women's basketball program as they don't have a history of success, so the money the women's team is getting for NIL is not likely to be significant.
That being said, I realize Duquesne is not dealing with same amount of money as Big 10 schools.
I also want to go back to your comment about WPIAL players not being "A10 level" as I disagree.

I would assume that Duquesne will establish a line item budget for men’s basketball player costs which would include scholarship value (probably around $60,000 per scholarship) and NIL. Let’s say Duquesne’s budget will be $2 million. Now build a roster.
Do you offer 10 scholarships total? There goes 30% of your budget. Do you give those 10 scholarships to 10 players or offer up full scholarships to 8 players and half scholarships to 4 players?
Continuing on the above example/exercise, you now have $1.4 million left to pay NIL money. How do you distribute it? Do you focus on 3 really good players (which may cost you a $1 million in NIL) and then spread the remainder around to the other scholarship players? It’s the great unknown.
I came across this site. Found it interesting to look at; I have no idea about the validity or significance. But someone put a lot of time, thought and effort into this so to me it was worth an exploration. Take a look at the valuation of Tre and Kareem projected in the portal.

With next year's changes to the NIL (a cap of $20.5 million across all sports at a school), an A10 school is now going to have to ante up a minimum of $1,000,000 a year in NIL to compete in men's basketball at the league level. I'm anticipating that some A10 schools will cross the $2 million threshold. The power schools are going to be spending around $5 million in NIL to build a roster.
With these changes, I don't think that Saint Francis will be the last school getting out of the Division 1 basketball game. It's going to be interesting to see if schools like La Salle and Fordham survive the expense to compete in the A10. As Dukes fans, we are so very fortunate that we have Ken Gormley as president who had the vision to position Duquesne Athletics as a pillar of success for the University; and for Dave Harper's execution of the initiative. Fasten your seatbelts; more turbulence to come.

Home Court Advantage -- You say it's the same thing for both teams -- Lighting, Floor, Background, Distance between Baskets and Fans. When DU plays say Dayton -- DU experiences these conditions maybe 40 times over a 2 year period.. Dayton probably experiences them once as they may be among the teams DU does not play twice in a given year. THAT is what I was trying to say was lost.
One of the points where you agreed with me actually might be where we feel differently. You agreed our post defense might not be up to snuff with just one big in there let's go back to the Richmond game which has been brought up ad nauseum - Presuming Megan is matched up with their point guard What is it going to be like when Budnik,Doogan, OR Ullstrom is posted up under the basket on Jerni?? I'm guessing Richmond will steal more points than Jerni could generate beating the Richmond players on the other end.
You mentioned "Why Didn't they go to CCAC and practice? CCAC HAS Men's and Women's Teams (I looked it up) I don't know how long daily practices are -- I'll presume 1.5 hours. So lets guess the CCAC women practice from 2-3:30 then the guys practice from 3:30 to 5 -- give them a half hour to clean out lockers shower etc - So the men are to practice from 5:30 to 7:00 - the Women from 7:00 - 8;30 so the Women are off campus at 8:30.
You talked about that summer lunch -- I'll arbitrarily pick a date in mid summer -- July 15th.. You stated you thought things would be same old same old - your partner "convinced you things would be different. WHY DIDN'T YOU TRUST YOUR ORIGINAL JUDGEMENT -- He/she must be ONE HELL of a salesperson.. I don't know if Fall PracticWomen's basketball » Richmond CLOBBERED Georgia Tech » 3/21/2025 8:33 pm
