Buckley hasnt committed to Duquesne as far as I can see.  If there is news, please inform us.
Wondering how long we hold out hope, seeing how a lot of portal players commit during their visits or shortly after.   Was hoping to see something yesterday.   I think he is exactly what we need, PG who can score, pass, and play defense.  Could really vault us into the top levels of A10.  I hope he picks the Dukes!!!

Needed another BIG man.   And yes, all focus should be on the PG now.   Get one of those, and lets roll!!!

Can we get a new player?   Something else to talk about than someone calling out a few fans?

Like:  College of Charleston transfer Stef Van Bussel tells me that he’s focused on the following programs:

Duquesne
Wyoming
Campell
Western Michigan

6’10 sophomore who also played at St. Louis.

OR

Fordham’s 6’7 junior Romad Dean is visiting Colorado on Monday, I’m told.
I would figure Colo will pay him the most, if they want him.

Has also heard from Portland, FIU, Hofstra, UNCG, Duquesne, Binghamton, Oregon State, Loyola Marymount, Fresno State, Iona, +.

Averaged 6.9 points & 5.6 rebounds in 32 starts.

He chose UIC.   We must not have offered enough $???   UIC?    Chicago is a better city than pittsburgh, but UIC?

Briscoe would be great, but him along with a good PG would be expensive, I would think.   IDK the Duq NIL funding at all, and what we currently are spending, or could spend.   But get those 2 in here and we could be talking double bye in the A10T next year.

100% we need a PG, floor general kind of guy, and we know they exist, probably the most difficult part is settling on $.
But I am not sold on we have enough in the front court.   Dixon and Hughley are it.   And one of those played less than 10 min/game last year.   I dont consider Necas a big, not the way we use him.   And the freshman from Denmark, cant really count on him yet.
Experienced PG and another upside and younger PF/C type would make me feel excited going into the summer.

Would they make people who want ND tickets buy the Duquesne game too?   Maybe can get some free or really cheap tickets from out of town ND fans, if so.   I know ND fans had to buy season tickets for Pitt last time they were here, and most of them gave the other games to kids charities and stuff like that.

Yesterday you posted Maja Rohkohl committed, but that post is now gone.

Based on the brief highlights in this clip announcing her entrance into the transfer portal, Harriet is exactly the type of post player we need, big and looks to be physical and definitely capbable of scoring around the basket.

If she is committed, she is a very welcome addition averaging 8 pts and 8 rebs per game and was on the Summit League All-Freshman team: https://x.com/OmahaWBB/status/1896990395588075908

Her instagram has Duquesne all over it as of yesterday.   I'd say she is in.

Yeah, agree, get a bit younger, but not sure what that means anymore.   Still got 4 open spots i believe.  Experienced PG and a young big man would be ideal.

Good news!!!  Should be our 3rd freshman.   With all the openings, still plenty of room(4 more players I think) to add experience from the portal.   The BYU guard would be awesome.   A shooter, and another big.   And the last spot for Chad Baker.

Sure does, these kids could be enjoying their time at DUQ and getting half way to their degree, and really want to play ball, even if its in practices or mop up time.   Now they have to go elsewhere, probably low level bball schools to have the game in their lives.  Prolla probably can play at some NEC level place.  IDK enough about any of the others.

You guys are all crazy. Eli Wilborn was recruited by the worst conference in Division I, transferred to us and averaged 5ppg and 3.5rpg in 12 mins. You all are acting like we are losing Cooper Flagg.

John Hugley was a 4 star recruit, who was Honorable Mention All-ACC a couple of years ago. Yes, he has not been the same player since he got hurt, but he still averaged 8.4 ppg and 3.8 rpg in 24 games last year at OKLAHOMA and played 34 games at XAVIER this year, where he just wasn't a fit. This is one of the biggest signings we have ever had! Do you guys know what Eli Wilborn would average in the Big East or the Big XII?? O.O and 0.0 because he would never even see the floor. If Hugley stays healthy he could be the A-10 Player of the Year. We NEVER get players from power 5 teams, this is beyond exciting and a game changer from Coach Dru.

I think a lot of you often think too small or have some sort of power conference bias. I would trade EVERY single player on our roster for the 10th-12th men from power conference teams. That's how VCU wins. That's how Dayton wins. These are the types of guys we need to be getting! Everyone should change their mindset and realize that transfers from St. Francis and Chicago St. and Canisius, regardless of how good their stats look, are NOT good signings in the A-10.

So Wilborn had better stats than Hughley last year.   And you think we are getting 1990 Shaq coming to pittsburgh.  Check yourself.

If Hughley pushed out Wilborn, it was a big mistake signing Hughley.   BIG!

He's a solid depth piece, he isnt playing over Wiborn, Dixon or Necas.   He avg 10 min and 2.9 ppg for Xavier.   He is not the same guy pitt was going throwing parties over.   Its still a good signing.   Cant really count on Barre.   Need a big man, esp in A10 who can throw his body around and be a force, block out those 6'11'' euro players some schools have.  This will be his 6th yr playing college ball.

Unless a player wants to come here, or we pay them enough, I wouldnt expect any signings for a while.   So many players, so many choices they need to make, NIL, any new rulings coming out of the courts, roster size, walk-ons, etc.   Its a real mess.  We all know an experienced PG and probably a shooter would be high on the list, and I agree, any PF/C type guy would be nice too.   And, bigly, no more departures.

I wonder if Baker makes more at Auburn than he would in the Euro league?

That sounds awful.   But we wont be alone in getting screwed over, and I would imagine some kind of backlash coming from schools like ours, and their respective fans.

If you had to guess what amount we can spend on any one player in the portal, what number would you say?   Is $250K too much?   Can we go higher?    I saw the big time, P5 national names, that we arent in on, are going to get b/w $2.5-3M.   Where do A10 teams stand?  I assume Dayton and VCU are near the top.
