Thanks Town
Now let's get a PF from portal
The last ship to a walk on because it's going to be tough enough to get everyone playing time. However if Dru was planning to red shirt say Dom and Frederick then get another small forward!
Go Dukes

Thanks Phil definitely a 3 level scorer
He reminds me of Jimmie Clark if he's half the defensive guy as him we are in for a great time!
Go Dukes

Thanks PR2
This is the guy everyone has been clamoring for!
Also love the defense stats not to mention the great FG and FT percentage!
I also like that our freshmen PGs can learn from him and be ready to take over next year go Dukes sign him up!

Great job Coach Dru

I love this signing. The front court Center depth we need. And with 3 years availability can't lose despite the portal. If he stays he's probably in line for major minutes after this year. You can't sign too many stars as the play time isn't there for all he can now grow into a star!

Now as everyone keeps saying the experienced PG is next!!

Go DRUquesne!

Awesome I like this one also shot 46% overall fg and 75% ft free throw line. Only a sophomore and a solid 210 lbs.

He will have 3 years available since one Juco year won't count he was a third team Juco All American
22.5 ppg

Let's now get the pg Crawford! And a SF with 3 pt special shooter!

Go Dukes

This is the the type of player that pushes the Dukes to the top 5 of the conference.  They need to make this happen.  Empty the coffers.  The fact that he’s considering Duquesne with those other schools on the table shows that Duquesne is a player.  Only a few years ago KD remarked that he didn’t even chase kid that Dayton was chasing because he knew he wouldn’t get him.  Would LOVE to see this happen!

Totally agree Styles
Get him as our PG with him and Lawson
I believe we only need another SF who can shoot 3
And another big
Contrary to popular opinion with Hall Dimichele Cam Crawford and sometimes Edward's we have enough 2 guards
Go Dukes make it happen!

If Hughley pushed out Wilborn, it was a big mistake signing Hughley.   BIG!

Couldn't agree more townson. Hopefully, Hughley will come thru in a big way for the Dukes next season. If he doesn't, this could prove to be a huge mistake!! Eli was the best prospect on our roster bar none IMO. On the other hand, there are no guarantees anymore. Any player can leave at any time so we'll never know how his career at Duquesne would have played out including how long his tenure here would have been.

While I liked Eli and his potential he still
Had a long way to go unless he developed as a shooter and free throw shooter.
IMO the best prospects on the team are Necas and Dimichele who can both shoot and defend. And with 2 and 3 years remaining have huge upside also!
Let's see how the roster develops and go from there.
Unfortunately or fortunately the portal giveth and taketh away!

Well it's like one year per player anymore.

The 2-3 year players are few and far between.

I liked Eli a lot and wish him well. The Hugley sign probably had a lot to do with that.

The bright side is more play time at PF or SF now for Necas. And we have another scholarship to use!
So do we use this extra scholarship on another big or another SF?

Hopefully this week we hear some sign news!

I think CLK mentioned in another post the Wonen were 15 this year men 15 next year but could be wrong?

Aeikins  are we still waiting for whether he is signed for this year?

If we count him and Lawson who signed his letter in fall that makes 2 Available?

If so need a slashing small forward and a big power forward who can knock down an occasional 3!
That’s my wish list at the moment.
Go Dukes

Not really much on the Dinkins X feed, one or two dorks talking trash, but I did see E Mich guard Christian Henry has interest from the Dukes, along with some others, Dayton being one of them :-(

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/5242936/christian-henry

I like his stats and he’s 6’3
I noticed he played Juco before EMU so even being a JR would still have 2 years available

I enjoyed watching him play and wish him the best at his new school.

I believe in Cam Jake and Brandon that we have enough at the 2 guard spot for next year. Especially if Max returns who can play there also.

Main need is experienced PG from portal to go along with Lawson freshman who I believe is still hopeful coming.

So barring any other defections I say get another SF who can finish at paint and shoot 3s
Lastly a true PF who can play facing or back to basket!

This could all change if someone else transfers

Its portal picking time!

Well since the portal is now open I have a couple thoughts.

1. How many additional roster members will leave?
My guess is 2 or more. And for respect of those
Player’s I am not going to speculate on names.

2. If those 2 or more leave my request is for a true Center 6-10 or bigger, a small forward who can attack the rim but still shoot 3’s and a power forward who plays with back to basket! And most importantly a true Bigger PG. These would preferably be portal additions.

This is of course assuming Dinkins comes back and we get Lawson.

A lot of wishful hopefuls!
Go Dukes

I wish him the best a true leader who was a great representative of DU basketball!

I know a lot of board members will now get wish for a taller PG. I definitely agree this is needed!

I say get a talented experienced PG from portal and a top notch freshman to groom for playing time as back up and future starter!

If I can summarize please….

-He is a role player
-He has strengths but at times we think Dru plays him a little too much
-Many wish his strengths were geared more toward getting more points whether from the field or file line
-His presence on and off the court probably contributes to him getting more playing time than what many would like
-He is a leader but the fans actually don’t see that as enough reason to play a lot
Whew….
Go Dukes

Thanks Fam I think your summary hits it on the head for all involved. Maybe since only a couple games left we can go back to being fans now since we all know his strengths and weaknesses!

You need somebody that you can give the ball to when it needs to be protected. He is that guy for us. I don’t think the coaching staff thinks Rozier is a bigger offensive threat than Crawford or Dinkins. I also have a hard time understanding how a player who gives his all in whatever role he is thrown into is so controversial on this forum. Kareem is such important glue guy for this team. He steers the ship of the team’s attitude.

Absolutely agree with all you said. Let’s not forget what a vocal leader and team favorite for all the guys on team And most fans.
I appreciate everything he does for the team!
Those that have expressed the opinion on what he does or doesn’t do on the court good or bad it’s a free speech forum.  But ok let’s not constantly re-hasing those every game.
We had our best game and biggest win of the season and what are we discussing?
Great win let’s go Dukes!

As far as Lawson is concerned I believe he is signed and is a true PG.

Hall probably a 2G does have 2 years but maybe 3 if the jr college rule goes into effect. Which could potentially give Dinkins another year.

Williams I believe is a SF who definitely looks like a PF but can shoot 3

Someone mentioned previously I believe CLK that 15 scholarship are available!

Of course we are sure to lose a couple players to portal also
