It really was quite a game. I was glancing at some RMU boards and the fans there are really just lost. Feels like a lot is out of whack for them these days.

Ball State is 12-12 the last two seasons Feb/Mar, and then 2-2 in CIT play those years. That's slightly concerning to me. That's not at the level of epic collapses that we've seen, but it's certainly below the bar set earlier in those seasons by those teams. I don't know how much of that to give to the level that Ball State plays. Doesn't mean he's wrong, either. I think it's just easy to be wired for skepticism with DU Hoops.

CLK, I read this and it makes me think of the big Danny Nee article before he left.

Now as an aside, I can agree that helicopter parents are a BIG problem right now. That work ethic and all sorts of other issues exist these days with kids. Case in point - when a school board member went after the job of CV's Tim McConnell because his kid wasn't getting enough playing time. 

But reading it in this context, all I can think of is Danny Nee going "Old school... isn't working."

Except for RE and Suzie, Greg's hiring record is lame. None of his hired coaches has produced a single title in any sport. When he's made change proactively, we've taken BIG steps backwards. In lacrosse, we've gone way backwards since he allowed a very successful coach to get away. Every sport he has kept, has floundered. Don't want to hear which ones have made the A-10 tournament every year ... none of them have won anything.

This is a huge hire. We have a veteran team with several all A-10 players coming back. If this program stumbles, it's one more piece of evidence that it's time for a new AD.

I am finally glad that people are realizing that GA's hiring record is lame.  I've been saying it for years.   (Insert mandatory Steve Opperman and his 50 games under .500 A-10 record here).

I absolutely agree with this. A moron could have realized that hiring SMS was a good idea, and in neither of the men's basketball searches did he get his first few choices. And the Double Dambrot effort was simply embarassing.

Hopefully they'll break through next year.
