Neptune has strong recruiting ties to NYC and I expect Fordham's program to improve significantly in the next few years.

The reason why I used the word compliant is that the policy at the Coop is to wear masks.

We should be compliant with wearing masks at the Coop.

Men's Basketball » The high volume of really bad canne music at the Coop is irritating. » 11/18/2021 10:51 am

Many have commented that the music is way too loud. I agree with those comments.

I see that face masks are required unless eating.

Prayers and condolences to the Dambrot family.

Basketball Recruiting » Kareem Rozier '22 Guard » 10/20/2021 12:04 pm

His video looks good, but they all do. Much prefer someone with better size who can do the same things. That said, coach knows a lot more than I do about him.

Men's Basketball » Chad Baker leaving... » 4/21/2021 8:57 am

Instead of responding to coaching players can easily opt out. They would benefit from accepting discipline in the long run. As my mom used to say " You can't put an old head on young shoulders."

Coming from VMI, Parham would bring discipline.

Agree that he will  be an asset especially if he doesn't have to be the starting point guard. Like most shooters, he can be streaky, but when he is on, we don't have anyone else who can match him.

Men's Basketball » Lamar Norman Commits To Western Michigan » 3/11/2021 3:14 pm

Hughes, Weathers, Carry, Martin-clearly not able to hold their own in the A10.

Men's Basketball » Mike Bekelja » 2/03/2021 9:31 am

Coach notes that his stat sheet does not show his value to the team. He reminds me of Jason Duty, who was a steady influence and made the other players more effective.

When we don't shoot well, we need to play great defense. Too many open threes.

I appreciate KD’s candor. Few coaches match that.

Men's Basketball » No City Game this Year » 5/15/2020 1:09 am

This is no surprise. Duquesne is a rising mid-major. Such teams typically have difficulty scheduling games with power 5 teams and if they can get such games, they are usually on the road. For the power 5 team, the risk of a loss often is not worth the gain.  Their conference games gives them the strength of schedule to get to the dance, so they don't need to play it. Although Pitt's recruiting is at a higher level than ours, and they should win, this game is much more important to us than to them and they want to avoid the potential blemish.  Pitt has cried foul for years about how Penn State treats them in football, but in hoops, they are in the same position with us.

Men's Basketball » If we beat Richmond » 3/05/2020 2:28 pm

Richmond needs to beat us to stay in the hunt for a bid. If the game is close, watch the referee calls.

Men's Basketball » Game Thread - George Mason Patriots » 2/29/2020 10:45 pm

Amazing that we won a game where the other team had twice as many rebounds as us.

Men's Basketball » Game Thread - Saint Louis Billikens (A) » 2/05/2020 9:18 pm

I listened closely to Coach's comments after the La Salle game and without coming out and saying it directly, I had the impression that he thought we matched up well with St. Louis. In his interview tonight he said that if you out rebound them (I think we did by 10), most nights they are going to lose. He has confidence in his big men inside. Now we have to handle St. Bona, who is always well coached and who always gives us a good game.

Keith Dambrot has not forgotten how to coach. This team has talent needs that were hidden during the soft pre-conference schedule and which are now manifest during conference games. This is still a work in progress. Enjoy the ride.

Duquesne Football » YOUNGSTOWN STATE PREVIEW » 9/14/2019 5:04 pm

Dukes O line was over matched in the first half. Run game had trouble getting going. QB had a sub-par day, forcing some throws. On the radio show coming back from the game, the announcers kept stating that we are as good as YSU, but simply did not execute. In my view they are a superior team. I think they have a chance to go far.

Per Wikipedia, Duquesne was one of the few schools to offer him coming out of high school. Can't find any more info as to details. What a get he would have been.
